I graduated from Jonesboro High School in 1997. I went on to college at Arkansas State University and graduated in 2003 with a Bachelor’s degree in music education. Later I attended courses offered at the University of Memphis for teaching the Orff Schulwerk method of music Levels 1,2,3.
I have a BME with an emphasis n vocal music. This is a k-12 degree.
I have attended workshops and professional development courses in Tennessee, Alabama, and Arkansas.
I have been teaching at FMIC since 2006. I have been in the Nettleton Public School District since 2005. I have taught pre-k through 6th grade in our district. I am currently teaching music grades 3-5.
I began teaching in 2003 in the El Dorado School District. I taught grades k-4 music there. Next I taught choir and music theory classes at Trumann Jr/Sr High in 2004. When I was hired at Nettleton, I taught k-3 music at Fox Meadow Elementary.
I have a wonderful mate named Shane. We have been together since 1998. We have two children named Cayson and Avery. Cayson is 6 and Avery is almost 1. We have a chihuahua named Carlos Juan Pablo Miguel Paco Taco who we just call Paco.
I love swimming when its hot outside. I love reading and watching movies anytime. I like spending time with my family and with my friends when I’m not teaching. I like creating crafts and painting when I have free time. Music is very much a big part of my life. I love to listen to and sing music all the time.
