I am trained in Barton Reading & Spelling System and a multisensory program called Connections. These programs are designed to meet the needs of students with Dyslexia.
This is my 3rd year teaching in the Nettleton District. I currently teach 4th grade Resource and address the core subjects of Reading, Math, and Language Arts. Previously I taugtht in a Special Education Self-Contained classroom in a local district.
I started teaching special education in 1989 at the John T Gray School (now called The Learning Center) and was there for 15 years. I taught children from pre-school to school-age. I thought it was time for a change and moved to a public school setting (another district) and was there 10 years before moving to the Nettleton District.
I have been married for 33 years this November. I have 3 daughters none of whom live at home. My oldest daughter is married and lives here in Jonesboro. She has a Master’s degree from Arkansas State University and teaches AP Social Studies classes at Walnut Ridge High School. My middle daughter is married and they have a beutiful baby girl. She has a Master’s degree from Arkansas State University and is an out patient therapist for Families, Inc. My youngest daughter is married and lives in Lake City. Her and her husband also have a new baby girl forn this summer. She has an Associates degree from Arkansas State Technical Center and planning to start the radiology program at ASU next year. I have a 4 year old lab/beagle mix that our daughters call their furry sister. My family are big Razorback fans!
When not at school I like to shop, read books, and swim.
I like spending time with our family and friends on the weekends. My husband and I just bought a camper so we can start traveling some.
